Checking on the competition is part and parcel of any business. Chain stores do it, major traded companies make it their business to know the ins and outs of their competitors and so do I.
As the owner/operator of a small phone sex business, I make it a rule to check on my competitors. Keeping abreast of business practices of other players in my industry not only allows me to keep a finger on the pulse of that industry, but it also enables me to see what, if anything others do that I don’t, for better or worse.
There is another very good reason for checking the competition. Search engine placements. If you are reading this article, then you know what I mean as you probably got to it by clicking on a link on the result page of a search engine. My webmaster and I do spend a lot of time refining key phrases that people use to find us on the net, and it is important, if we want to continue to be found, to make sure that the search engine like our content enough that they then list us at the very top of their search page results.
I have been doing this ever since the launch of my website, twice a week to be precise, and the one thing I have always found is that there is a handful of companies that seems to be consistently ranked at the top of the list for most of the search phrases we target. Of course, there are ins and outs and new websites sometimes pop in unexpectedly, but by far and large, three or four websites seem to have an omni presence in most cases. One such company is Karen phone sex, a company which has been in business for nearly 20 years.
I have a very good reason for including the above link. I worked for Karen when I first started in this business. She taught me everything I know! And then one day, I walked into her office and told her that I wanted to work for myself as I needed more freedom to work when I wanted (I was pregnant at the time). To be honest with you, I was half expecting her to throw me out, never talk to me again. But she didn’t. Not only that, she gave me an old telephone system that had become too small for the volume of calls that was coming in and it was like a present from the heavens.
You know what they say about word of mouth! It’s worth more than any sums of money put together and that’s why I am so happy to talk about her. I know Karen well, know how good she is on the phone and I have been present at times when she would make a caller come in less than 5 minutes. She is that good!
So if you should decide to go pay her a visit, don’t forget to tell her that I sent you!
